Young African (Yanga SC) assistant captain Dickson Job has discussed how prepared they are to face MC Alger in the second match of their CAF Champions League group stage.

The Timu ya Mwananchi will face the Algerian outfit at Stade du 5 Juillet seeking their first win in Group A. Yanga kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 defeat against Al Hilal of Sudan at Benjamin Mkapa Stadum on November 26.

Yanga’s recent performance has been a worry as they had lost two straight Mainland Premier League matches against Azam FC and promoted Tabora United. However, heading into the MC Alger, they will be buoyed by their recent 2-0 win against Namungo FC in the league.

“We have had a good training session and everyone is looking good, and ready to get a positive result on Saturday. The level of players is looking good and every player is keen to get a starting role,” said Job.

“It is a positive way when players want to fight for a place in the team, it give us the chance to try and do well, we know it will not be an easy game, we know they are a difficult side to beat espcially at home, they are not an easy target so we must fight.

“We want to fight for every ball and make sure we win the midfield battle, by doing so we will have the chance to hurt them.”

Yanga are currently sitting last in the group without a point while MC Alger are second with one point.
