Young Africans (Yanga SC) head coach Sead Ramovic has revealed his game plan ahead of their Caf Champions League fixture against TP Mazembe at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday.

The Timu ya Mwananchi will go into the matchday four fixture looking for a win to keep alive their hopes of qualifying to the next stage of the lucrative competition. In the first round meeting, Yanga secured a 1-1 draw against Mazembe on December 14.

Previewing the game, Ramovic explained his tactics that will help his side come out with a win. “It is my style of play like many people know it, high defensive style of play, we don’t want to let the opponent with space or give them time to breath because if the opponent as the time and space, they can play the pass and play how they want to dominate you,” Ramovic told Pan-Africa Football.

“This is something we want to avoid, we don’t want them (Mazembe) to dominate the game because it will be very difficult for us to come out with a good result, we want to make it easy for ourselves and this style of play requires mentally and tactically readiness and needs a very fit squad.”

Ramovic continued: “We know that we need the three points to stand a chance to qualify for the next stage, we are aware of that but again this gives us the chance to play with pressure.

“When I came here four weeks ago I saw that the team was not fit enough and this was true, but in the four weeks (I have been around), I have to give credit to my players because of how they suffer every day to get to the level where I will like to see them.

“We are in a better shape now, we are very ready to play against a very strong team, it is not easy to play against them they will probably play the same style like they did in Mazembe, try to use long balls, to cross a lot into our box, we are well prepared and we are very happy now that we can play well, and have great individuals in our squad who can win the game for us and these makes me a very proud coach.”

Yanga are currently lying last in Group A with one point while Al Hilal of Sudan are leading the pile with maximum nine points. MC Alger are second with four points while Mazembe are placed third with two points.
