Gambia international Yankuba Minteh grabbed a brace as Brighton & Hove Albion humiliated Chelsea 3-0 in a Premier League fixture at Falmer Stadium on Friday.

In a fixture that the home side dominated, Kaoru Mitoma scored the opener in the 27th minute before the 20-year-old Gambia star doubled the lead in the 38th minute. Brighton were hugely favourites to win the fixture as they dominated Chelsea in all fronts and went into the half-time break leading 2-0.

The second half saw Brightoin continue to dominate and Minteh should have scored the third in the 49th minute but he was denied by Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, However, the impressive Minteh was not to be denied in the 63rd minute when he rounded off the emphatic win with a well-taken effort.

Former Manchester United and Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck won the ball off Levi Colwill and slipped a pass inside Jadon Sancho to Minteh. Once again Minteh left Marc Cucurrella trailing as he beat Jorgensen with a powerful shot inside the near post.

Brighton should have scored more in the closing stages, Jorgensen denied Mitoma, Joao Pedro fired over and Joel Veltman hit the post after a wonderful pick-out by Yasin Ayari.

Out of 20 Premier League matches so far this season, Minteh has scored five goals and provided two assists.
