In a recent development, Zamalek and Pyramids FC have officially submitted appeals to the Grievances Committee of the Egyptian Football Association, objecting to the decision made by the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association on March 30.
This decision involved canceling the penalty of deducting three points from Al Ahly and merely considering them defeated 3-0 against Zamalek in the Cairo Derby match.
Initially, on March 15, the association had ruled that Al Ahly would be considered defeated 3-0 and would have an additional three points deducted at the end of the season.
This was due to their absence from the first-round match of the league's decisive phase against Zamalek on March 11, protesting the appointment of an Egyptian referee instead of a foreign one.
However, on March 30, the association reversed its decision, canceling the three-point deduction while maintaining the match result in favor of Zamalek. This prompted both Zamalek and Pyramids FC to appeal to the Grievances Committee of the Egyptian Football Association.
In this context, Pyramids FC submitted a memorandum to the Grievances Committee, outlining the legal grounds for their appeal. They requested that the Professional Clubs Association provide an official copy of the decision announced on their official website, along with a copy of the minutes of the Association’s Board of Directors’ decision in this regard and any related documents.
