Swiss tactician Christian Gross said he was happy with Zamalek's win over Ismaily in Friday's Nile Egyptian League match. Zamalek defeated Ismaily 2-0 in the game of the twelfth round, raising their points tally to 23 points in third place.

The coach remarked in the press conference: "I am happy with the result and the win and the team started well in the first 20 minutes. After scoring the lead goal, the team retreated somewhat."

Gross continued, saying: "Ismaily pressed in the second half and attacked to equalize and the last 10 minutes were very difficult, but after the second goal scored by Dunga we felt reassured."

He explained that the winter transfer window is not over for him and he is still looking to strengthen the team with new players. Gross pointed out that new signing Mahmoud Gehad was complaining of back pain and that he substituted him close to the 80th minute to preserve for future matches.

Gehad played a good match with the team and Ahmed Hossam, the team's new defender, joined Gehad in a strong debut with the White Knights.

Gehad also spoke saying that he is happy to be in Zamalek and explained that he knows the amount of pressure on him because he is in a big team that constantly competes in all the tournaments it participates in.

The player added in his statements after today's match against Ismaily in the Nile Egyptian League: "I will do my best to appear at the best level and I am happy with the victory achieved in today's match. I am also happy to play alongside players from Zamalek Club and to receive the award for the best player in the Ismaily match."

"I thank the fans for the reception and promise them to do my best with my colleagues to appear in the best image and continue the victories in the coming period."

Regarding Nasser Maher's expulsion, Gross said: "I did not talk to him after the match to know what happened and I will meet with him tomorrow to find out everything. The expulsion affected us but Dunga's goal helped us decide the match."

The coach continued, saying: "Mohamed Shehata appeared well in the right-back position and Mohamed El-Sayed played well in today's match."

Gross commented on commemorating the victims of Zamalek fans in the Air Defense incidents, saying: "Our feelings were strong and it is good to commemorate their memory, and the club is always close to the fans and the families of the martyrs."
