Ahmed Magdy, the acting head coach of Zamalek's first football team, expressed his delight following their victory over Al Masry in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Magdy stated:

"Winning against Al Masry was crucial to securing the top spot in the group. The team delivered a solid performance. We were well aware of our opponent's playing style, and Zamalek had prepared thoroughly for this match."

He added:

"We missed three or four clear chances in the first half. The winning goal came in the second half, and I thank the players immensely for their efforts in executing the required instructions during the game."

Magdy continued:

"I spoke with the players, and we managed to overcome the difficult circumstances the team has faced recently. The game was clear to everyone; we dominated the first half and created several opportunities, while the second half was more evenly contested between both teams."

The acting head coach emphasized that Zamalek's previous defeats against Al Masry were due to technical errors. He noted that the opponent had limited chances in this match and acknowledged Al Masry as a strong team.

Magdy also explained his tactical choices:

"I decided to play with two wingers to take advantage of Ahmed Mostafa 'Zizo' in central midfield. That’s why I fielded Konrad Michalak and Mostafa Shalaby on the flanks."

He concluded:

"Every match and tournament I play with Zamalek has its own story, and I love this club deeply. Working with the first team is a great honor that I take pride in."

Zamalek secured a 1-0 victory over Al Masry in the third round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage. The match, held at Borg El Arab Stadium, saw Zamalek rise to 7 points, taking the lead in Group D.
