Dr. Mohamed Osama, head of the medical staff for Zamalek SC, revealed details about the injuries sustained by three players – Mahmoud Bentayeg, Mustafa Zennari, and Ahmed Mahmoud – during the team’s match against Nigeria’s Enyimba on Sunday in the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

In statements to the club's media center, Dr. Osama explained that Moroccan left-back Mahmoud Bentayeg suffered an injury to the joint between the clavicle and the shoulder blade. Initial first aid was administered on the field.

He added that, after consulting with the coaching staff led by Portuguese coach José Gomes, it was decided that the player would not continue the match. Bentayeg will undergo scans and medical tests upon the team’s return to Cairo to determine the extent of the injury and the required recovery time.

Regarding defender Mustafa Zennari, Dr. Osama confirmed that the player sustained a hamstring injury and will also undergo medical tests and scans once the team returns to Cairo to assess the injury and establish the treatment plan.

Dr. Osama also noted that right-back Ahmed Mahmoud is suffering from a calf strain and will undergo further tests and scans to assess the injury and the treatment duration.

Zamalek drew 2-2 with Enyimba in their Group Stage match of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, bringing their tally to 4 points.
