Zambia’s Kangwa on target as Hapoel Be'er Sheva defeat Hapoel Hadera

Zambia international Kings Kangwa was on target yet again as Hapoel Be'er Sheva grabbed a crucial 2-1 victory against Hapoel Hadera in an Israeli Premier League fixture at Netanya Stadium on Saturday.


The diminutive Chipolopolo star has now scored in two concecutive matches, having found the back of the net in the 2-2 draw against Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. last time out.


On Saturday, Alon Turgeman opened the scoring for Hapoel Be'er Sheva after he finished off a wonderful cross from the right wing in the 13th minute. Kangwa then doubled Hapoel Be'er Sheva’s lead in 59th minute after scoring from close range.




With Hapoel Be'er Sheva headed for a 2-0 win, Hadera reduced the deficit in in added minutes of stoppages when Omer Senior sneaked the ball past the advancing hands of goalkeeper Niv Eliasi.


Out of the 17 league matches played so far, Kangwa has now scored seven goals and provided five assists. He has featured in all the 17 matches, came out as a substitute on nine occasions and raked in 1437 minutes of play time.


The win enabled Hapoel Be'er Sheva to cement their lead at the top of the 14-team league table with 38 points from 17 matches. They have managed 12 wins, four draws and one defeat. Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. are placed second, one point behind the leaders.


Kangwa and Hapoel will next travel to face Hapoel Haifa F.C. at Sammy Ofer Stadium on Sunday, January 12.
