Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League giants, Dynamos FC have suffered a blow ahead of the 2025 season kick-off with their star midfielder Ramson Chingwara ruled out for a month due to an injury.
Dynamos confirmed via a statement that Chingwara fractured his left wrist during a practice match against Hard Rock FC at Baghdad Stadium in Kwekwe last Friday. The Harare-based club’s doctor Robert Musara said the 22-year-old landed heavily on his left hand in the second half to fracture his wrist.
“He is now in a cast and will sit out a minimum of four weeks before he can start to train,” Musara said. Chingwara joined the 22-time champions on a two-year contract from Omani side Bosher Club last month.
Meanwhile, Dembare as Dynamos are also called, have named defender Emmanuel Jalai as the new captain for the 2025 season. He is the longest-serving member of the squad with over 150 games under his belt in the famous blue shirt. He will be deputised by defender Donald Dzvinyai and utility man Shadreck Nyahwa.
The Chibuku Cup holders Dynamos face league champions Simba Bhora on Saturday to curtain raise the 2025 season in Zimbabwean football.
After the Challenge Cup, Bhora will switch attention to the league race, opening the floor with a dance against FC Platinum whereas Highlanders face MWOS on opening day. Other fixtures will see Dynamos taking on ZPC Kariba whereas Caps United and Greenfuel will sort it out in the opening week.
