FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has refused to panic despite the Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) team’s slow start to the season.

He spoke to the Zimbabwe media after picking up one win in seven league games, reminding his critics that he was in a similar situation with Monomotapa FC and ended up winning the league championship.

"We are not scoring and we are doing well, but it will happen,” he said in a post-match interview after a 1-1 away draw with rookies, Scottland FC on Monday, 21st April 2025.

“I was with Monomotapa in 2018, in the next four games by this time of the season, you are sitting on nine points. It is more or the same now—seven games and nine points.”

“Anything can happen. I have been in this situation, and I am not going to panic. I am not going to be impatient. The players are working so hard," he added.

FC Platinum, the 2024 league champions, sit in 10th place with nine points from six games, six points behind leaders MWOS.
