Zimbabwe's Castle Lager Premier League side, Dynamos FC, has signed former LA Galaxy winger Farai Mutatu on a two-year contract.

The Harare-based team confirmed the signing of the winger. Dynamos’ statement reads: “Dynamos FC is delighted to announce that we have completed the signing of winger Farai Mutatu."

The 25-year-old was on the books of the Harare-based team a few seasons ago before he went to America for the Major League Soccer adventure which was not as fruitful. Mutatu signed for LA Galaxy in 2022 but didn’t feature for them due to work permit issues, making it impossible to register him. Mutatu previously played college soccer in the USA with Michigan State before being drafted by the Galaxy in the MLS SuperDraft for university and college players.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys have promoted striker Tapiwa Masango from their development team. The 19-year-old is an all-round attacker who has risen through the youth development ranks of Dynamos and other teams such as SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates in South Africa.

In a related development, Dynamos have hired Ronald Sibanda as their team manager whereas Mark Mathe has joined as an assistant to head coach Lloyd Chigowe.
