After looking set to be dismissed as Egypt manager following an underwhelming start to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz has turned around public opinion of his performance thanks to the Pharaohs’ run to the final in Cameroon and a closely fought 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff defeat to Senegal. Now it appears the 69-year-old will stay on as Egypt manager after discussions with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).
