The rest of the pack in South Africa’s DStv Premiership got a boost on Monday following a 1-1 draw between defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Baroka FC. Malawian striker Richard Mbulu reprised his role from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations as a supersub by doing it once again at club level, scoring a dramatic late equalizer in second half stoppage time to force Sundowns into a sharing of the points. Lyle Lakay had put the league leaders up at the beginning of the second half with one of his trademark free kick strikes, but following the result there is now an opening for chasers Orlando Pirates to gain some ground.
