Rwanda Premier League: Rayon Sports, AS Kigali and APR FC all win

It was the fourth round of fixtures for the majority of teams in the Rwanda Premier League following the weekend’s action with popular club Rayon Sports leading the way. The Kigali-based side made it four wins from four games with a 3-2 victory over Marines FC on Saturday as Leandre Willy Essomba Onana scored twice and Eric Mbilizi also tallied for the nine-time champions. Rayon Sports are two points ahead of second placed Gasogi United, who defeated Police FC 2-0 on Sunday.

Top Rwandan clubs APR FC and AS Kigali are continuing to make up games on their competition after taking part in the preliminary stages of CAF interclub competition. Both clubs have won each of their two opening matches with AS Kigali defeating Rutsiro FC 2-1 and APR taking down recently promoted Rwamagana City by a 3-2 score. AS Kigali will resume their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup next weekend when they host Libyan club Al-Nasr SC in the first leg of their Second Round preliminary stage clash while APR fell to Tunisian club US Monastir in the CAF Champions League.
