Senegal releases list for matches against Benin and Brazil

The player list of Senegal head coach Aliou Cissé was released on Friday ahead of two matches for the Lions of Teranga that will take place in June. Senegal will face Group L foes Benin in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on June 17 before traveling to Portugal where they will clash with Brazil in Lisbon. The reigning African champions have already clinched their place at the 2023 AFCON following victories in all four of their matches so far against Benin, Rwanda and Mozambique.

Familiar faces include Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mané, Chelsea defender and Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibaly as well as midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye. Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson is back in the squad after a fruitful spell with the Spanish club that saw the 21-year-old score eight goals in his last seven La Liga matches. Serie A’s newly crowned Player of the Month for May, Salernitana forward Boulaye Dia, is not in the team after undergoing a medical procedure for his knee in France that leaves him unavailable for at least a month.

Otherwise it is largely an unchanged squad for coach Cissé compared to his last list from March. The full list of players is below.
