Simba further their grip on first place with win over Dodoma in Ligi Kuu Tanzania Bara

Simba are taking full advantage of the games they are making up on rivals Young Africans SC, showing no ill effects of match congestion in a 3-1 victory over Dodoma Jiji on Tuesday. It is now five wins on the trot in league play for Tanzania’s top side since their CAF Champions League defeat to Al Ahly, and now Simba are four points ahead of Yanga at the top of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League table with two games still to make up on their rivals.

Familiar faces made up the goalscorers for Simba with Mozambican star winger Luis Miquissone and Congolese striker Chris Mugalu once again tallying. Mugalu turned in a slick finish from a cross before visitors Dodoma equalized to make it 1-1 at the half. Miquissone completed a sumptuous pass combination, using his speed to run onto the return pass and lash a volley home in the 55th minute to put Simba in the lead and then Mugalu scored his second in the 68th to clinch the victory.
