Tanzania – Simba edge 10 men Yanga to win FA Cup

Simba’s dominant season in Tanzanian football was capped off on Sunday by a victory against rivals Young Africans SC in the final of the Tanzania FA Cup, known under the current name of the Azam Sports Federation Cup. Simba won 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Uganda national team midfielder Taddeo Lwanga, who was there to head home a corner kick from Luis Miquissone in the 80th minute at the near post. Simba’s triumph was helped along when Yanga SC player Mukoko Tonombe was sent off just before halftime for a retaliatory lash out at Simba striker John Bocco, forcing his team to play the entire second half with ten players.

The FA Cup victory is Simba’s second consecutive and the win over Yanga will be sweet revenge for their league loss to their rivals a few weeks ago. A match report from CAF Online is in the link below followed by video of Lwanga’s game winner and then extended highlights from Azam TV.
