Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC announced the extension of their sponsorship with betting company SportPesa on Wednesday with the two sides agreeing to a three-year deal worth over 12 billion Tanzanian shillings, or about $5.2 million. The deal represents a substantial increase in the money being exchanged between the two parties, with the previous deal being for 5 billion shillings over five years.
Young Africans SC will be competing in the preliminary stages of the 2022-23 CAF Champions League following their first domestic league title in five years and the club has been spending plenty of money on foreign signings. With rivals Simba SC also spending plenty to restock their side and wrestle back the title of top club in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League, the upcoming season figures to be as heated and competitive as ever.
