Senegal’s Ligue 1 appears to be Teungueth FC’s to lose at this point as the team that turned heads with qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage this season continues to surge forward with stellar domestic form. A goal in each half led to a 2-0 victory for the side from Rufisque over ASEC Ndiambour on Saturday courtesy of tallies from Elhadji Moutarou Balde and Pape Ndiaye, moving the hosts to 47 points and an 8-point lead over second placed Pikine.
Jaraaf, the other Senegalese team to compete in the CAFCC group stages, moved into fifth place with a victory over Génération Foot with a couple of games still to make up on teams above them. Génération Foot and Diambars are now in close competition with Pikine for the second place spot as the final stretch of the Ligue 1 season continues.
