Tusker extend FKF Premier League unbeaten streak to six games with win against AFC Leopards

Tusker FC continue their streak of excellent play in Kenya’s top division with the Brewers stretching their lead at the top to seven points courtesy of Saturday’s 2-0 win over AFC Leopards. Having already clinched Kenya’s lone spot in next season’s CAF Champions League, the Brewers are showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to wrapping up the league title with solid form in the final third of the campaign.

The hosts got off to an excellent start by putting Leopards under pressure from the start with a cross from Chris Ochieng finding Chrispinus Onyango, who directed a powerful header just wide of the goal. However, soon after Onyango would be back with another opportunity and would not miss this time. In the 15th minute an early floated cross found Onyango in the Leopards penalty area, who took the ball down well before slotting his finish off the gloves of the Leopards keeper and into the goal for the opener.

Leopards showed a bit more life in the second half but could not break down the defense of the league leaders early in the second half, and soon after would pay the price. In the 50th minute Onyango was yet again back for more with another early lobbed cross finding the marksman, who chested the ball down for Ochieng to strike on goal. The initial effort was saved but Onyango snuck in for the rebound and put the ball home from close range to put Tusker’s lead beyond reach.
