Two goals in five minutes lifts Young Africans to win

A two-goal barrage in the first half was all Young Africans SC needed to defeat JKT Tanzania on Wednesday and draw level with Simba on points at the top of the Ligi Kuu Tanzania Bara table with four more matches played than their rivals. Former Asante Kotoko forward Yacouba Songne tallied to start the scoring in the 26th minute by meeting a cross with a lobbed header that caught the JKT keeper leaning the wrong way. Congolese defender Tuisila Kisinda completed the scoring four minutes later when the hosts failed to defend a routine cross and Kisinda lashed home a low shot.

In the other match from Wednesday, CAF Confederation Cup participants Namungo played to a scoreless draw at relegation threatened Gwambina. Continental competition has appeared to impact Namungo’s league form with the club’s early domestic season struggles giving way to a season spent in the middle of the pack.
