The top of the Uganda Premier League table remains full of intrigue following victories for league leaders URA SC and closest competitors Vipers SC. Defending champions Vipers triumphed over KCCA FC for an important 1-2 road victory, keeping the gap between them and the leaders at only one point. Two goals in two minutes soon after the second half started left hosts KCCA stunned as Yunus Sentamu and Milton Karisa provided the moments of class, with Karisa’s volley particularly well-taken.
League leaders URA SC did not face too much resistance against Onduparaka, who are having a nightmare spell during their season. Shafiq Kagimu scored his 8th and 9th goals of the season and Stephen Mukwala added his 11th with a jumping scissor kick. URA SC have not lost since early March while Onduparaka have now lost their fifth straight match.
The Daily Monitor has a recap of the weekend’s action from the Ugandan top division. Highlights of both URA and Vipers’ victories are below.
