Wazito FC 1-1 Tusker: Brewers drop vital points again in title race

FKF Premier League leaders Tusker FC are stuttering at the wrong time and a second straight disappointing draw, this time at Wazito FC, leaves the Brewers with less margin for error with Kenya Commercial Bank and AFC Leopards aspiring to overtake them. Tusker are now four points up on KCB but the Bankers have a game to make up while AFC Leopards have three games to make up on the leaders as they trail by only six points.

A positive start had Tusker believing that they could march to a routine victory when Sammy Meja’s 4th minute free-kick took a deflection and left Wazito keeper Levis Opiyo stranded. However, the lead was not meant to last long with a goalkeeping blunder to blame for letting the hosts back into the match. Emery Mvuyekure fumbled an aerial ball into the Tusker box that bounced right in front of him, allowing Kenyan international midfielder Kevin Kimani to gather and put the ball in the net following the resulting scramble.

Goal reports that despite four changes at the half from Tusker, hosts Wazito remained stubborn and had their fair share of opportunities to take the lead following their equalizer. Check out the match report in the link below and the highlights further down.
