Wydad AC star Achraf Dari to complete move to Brest this week

After a delay due to visa issues it appears that Wydad AC center back Achraf Dari will finally complete his first transfer abroad to French Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois this week. Wydad and Brest have agreed to a €2.7 million fee but the visa issues nearly caused the club from Brittany to back out of the deal. Dari is set to join on a four-year contract and would join fellow Maghrebian and Algeria national team star Youcef Belaïli at the club.

Dari made 140 appearances for Wydad and scored 11 goals since making his senior team debut in May 2018, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 WAC victory over Hassania Agadir. His rise was in threat of being derailed by a serious knee injury suffered during the 2019-20 season but the last two seasons have seen the 23-year-old bounce back in a major way to be a key contributor in the team’s 2021-22 CAF Champions League conquest as well as the last two championship-winning seasons in Morocco’s Botola Pro.
