Zamalek complete their first two transfers for next season

Zamalek are looking to add some quality to their squad even after winning a second consecutive Egyptian Premier League title with the additions of midfielder Zakaria El Wardi and forward Ibrahima Ndiaye for next season. El Wardi will arrive from Moroccan runners-up Raja CA after the 24-year-old spent three seasons with the Green Eagles, featuring regularly during the team’s winning run at the 2020-21 CAF Confederation Cup.

Also aged 24, Senegalese forward Ndiaye returns to Egyptian football after three seasons with Swiss Super League club Luzern where he made 109 appearances and scored 24 goals. The former Senegal under-20 and under-23 national team player starred in Egypt with Wadi Degla and will add goal scoring punch to a Zamalek attack that depends heavily on playmaker Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” and Tunisia national team forward Seifeddine Jaziri for goals. Zamalek were unable to make signings during the previous two transfer windows because of a FIFA ban and will continue to look to strengthen the squad ahead of the next season.
