Zega Mambo Equal Wanderers 9th League Title

Three straight season of Zambia Super League titles for ZESCO United were interrupted by Nkana’s conquest in last season’s Covid-19 shortened race, but the club owned by Zambia’s state electricity supplier is back at the summit following their 2-0 home victory over NAPSA Stars on Sunday. Kenyan forward Jesse Were opened the scoring a few minutes before halftime and then Zambia national team member Kelvin Kampamba, a member of Nkana’s title-winning side last season, put the match away for Zega Mambo.

Zedsoccer recaps the match in the link below, mentioning that this season’s CAF Confederation Cup representatives NAPSA continue to be in serious danger of going from continental football to being relegated from their country’s top tier. NAPSA and last year’s champions Nkana are both in the drop zone with only a few matches left to play.

Video of the post-match celebrations from ZESCO team members are below the link to Zedsoccer’s league recap.
