Ugandan forward Sadat Anaku signs with Scottish club Dundee United following trial

Following a successful trial period Ugandan forward Sadat Anaku signed with Scottish Premiership club Dundee United on a two-year contract. The 21-year-old former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA FC) player arrived on trial along with Uganda national team and Express FC midfielder Enock Walusimbi, impressing in sessions with the youth team and then the Dundee United first team while taking part in friendly matches against the under-23 sides of English Premier League sides Leicester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United. Dundee manager Jack Ross praised Anaku’s “mental toughness” to come in from overseas and prove himself in comments reported by BBC Sport.

Anaku scored seven goals in each of the last two seasons with KCCA FC and is on the verge of earning his first senior national team appearance for Uganda after previously being called into the Cranes setup. Dundee United have yet to earn their first win this season in the Scottish Premiership and will take on defending champions Celtic FC this weekend.
