Information about the Author

Andrew Olsson is a historian, writer, and scout who focuses on African football. His first introduction to football was as a child at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, where he saw Hristo Stoichkov and Bulgaria compete against the Super Eagles of Nigeria. While studying colonialism and post-colonialism at university, Andrew’s interest in football, specifically African football, only increased. However, it was always difficult to find information on football in Africa beyond coverage dedicated to regional or local scenes.

Therefore, Andrew set about to create an information source that covers football in all regions of Africa and its various competitions. After taking a few courses related to the football industry through Sports Management Worldwide, he discovered that he has plenty to contribute and an ability to inform.

This website’s purpose is to keep fans of African football updated and to educate those who wish to know more. The scouting report section is meant to cover players who are on the rise and are committed to playing internationally for an African nation. Country spotlights provide looks into national footballing scenes and domestic leagues. Enjoy and feel free to reach out if there are any questions or comments!
