Burkina Faso and Manchester City right back Issa Kaboré is set to make his move to Olympique Marseille official on Tuesday with the 21-year-old joining OM on loan with an option to buy. Kaboré, the Best Young Player at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, helped Troyes stay up in France’s Ligue 1 during the 2021-22 season and is now looking to take his career to the next level with Marseille competing in UEFA club competition this season. Marseille will have the option to make Kaboré’s transfer permanent for €20 million.
The former Rahimo FC defender made his first move to European football with Belgium’s KV Mechelen before joining Manchester City and spending another season at Mechelen on loan followed by his loan spell at Troyes. Kaboré has gone on to make 27 appearances for Burkina Faso, scoring two goals for Les Étalons.
