Midweek action from Tunisia’s Ligue 1 Professionnelle finished up on Thursday with Group B playing their eighth round of matches and US Ben Guerdane produced their third consecutive 1-0 victory to move top. Rafik Kamergi struck his seventh goal of the season around the hour mark to give USBG a road victory over EO Sidi Bouzid, keeping the former Espérance ST youth product and Tunisia youth international at the top of the scoring charts with seven goals.
2021-22 season runners-up US Monastir dropped to second behind USBG following a 1-0 home defeat to Olympique Béja. Oussema Bougherra scored the match winner for Béja early in the second half by following up his blocked pass to finish and move OB into third position.
Club Africain struggled at the start of the season but earned a third win in their last four matches by defeating ES Métlaoui 2-0. Tunisia youth national team forward Hamdi Labidi opened the scoring with a first time finish from a cross in the 10th minute and former Tunisia senior national team midfielder Larry Azouni dove to head in his first goal since moving to Tunisian football following fifteen years in Europe.
