Group J was among the first AFCON qualifying groups to be confirmed as play finished up on Sunday with Tunisia defeating fellow qualifiers Equatorial Guinea 2-1 and Tanzania won 1-0 against Libya. Zamalek forward Saifeddine Jaziri finished up an excellent week with the national team by scoring another goal in the fourth minute before an Equatorial Guinea own goal early in the second half made the gap too large.
Wydad Casablanca forward Simon Msuva struck with a header just before halftime to make the difference in an entertaining 1-0 victory for the Taifa Stars over Libya. Both teams enjoyed their fair share of opportunities in Dar es Salaam but the Taifa Stars had just a bit more class in the final third to get three points in a dead rubber.
