A decision was swiftly reached by CAF regarding the postponement of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Sierra Leone and Benin by rescheduling the game for the June international window. Following the news that six players had tested positive and would be ineligible for the game, Benin refused to take part in the fixture due to suspicions of manufactured tests by the home team. The Benin Football Federation expressed gratitude to CAF for their understanding and maintained that their own tests had cleared each player prior to the game.
