Egypt has high aspirations to put in an impressive performance at this summer’s Olympics in Japan, and the most important emphasis of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) is obtaining the availability of Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah. After last year’s English Premier League champions requested more details in response to a prior request from the EFA, Egypt under-23 manager Shawki Gharib announced that a more detailed request was submitted.
The EFA released the list on Friday of a provisional Olympic squad with Salah and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny among the big names. The competition is scheduled to start on August 7.
