It was widely expected to happen, but Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu was confirmed to have won Belgian football’s award for the top African player in the Belgian Pro League, the Ebony Shoe. The Premium Times reports that Onuachu is the fifth Nigerian to win the award, following in the footsteps of Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ekpeba, Godwin Okapara and Celestine Babayaro. Onuachu ended his season with 35 goals in 41 appearances.
