ES Sétif and CR Belouizdad met on Thursday with first place in Algeria’s Ligue 1 Professionnelle on the line, but neither side could make a breakthrough in a 0-0 draw. Sétif remain three points ahead of CRB at the top, but Chabab have a game still to make up and very much remain a threat to the title hopes of ESS with five games left to play.
CRB are unbeaten in ten league matches following the result and their splendid form compared to the stuttering play of ESS recently was on display. The second placed visitors looked every bit the equal of ESS and had their opportunities to steal a road victory that would have put them in prime position to snatch the top spot, but CRB will take confidence into the final stretch while concerns remain for an ESS team that have continued to look less and less unbeatable.
