Al Ahly smashed Misr Al Makassa 4-1 in the Egyptian league

Al Ahly continue to make up the deficit on rivals Zamalek at the top of the Egyptian Premier League as they catch up in games played, securing a 1-4 road victory over Misr Lel Makkasa on Sunday. Makkasa posed a bit of a threat, opening the scoring from the penalty spot through Ahmed Abdulaziz Mody ten minutes before halftime. However, the currently unstoppable Mohamed Sherif equalized before halftime with a headed goal and then using his head once again in the 62nd minute to nod home a clever cross from Hussein El Shahat.

An own goal fifteen minutes before full time and a late strike from Mohamed Magdi “Afsha” clinched a convincing victory for Ahly that came as the result of a dominant second half performance. Ahly are now ten points behind Zamalek with four games still to make up, giving increased hope to their fans that another domestic title is well within reach if the team can maintain its current form.

Video of the goals are below the link to a match report from Egypt Today.
