Uganda preliminary squad assembles for pre-World Cup qualifying training camp

The Uganda national team began preparations for a friendly against Ethiopia and the beginning of FIFA World Cup qualifying when the Cranes take on Kenya to start their campaign on September 2. A group of locally based players will go through Covid-19 testing before departing for Jordan for a training camp that will feature two exhibition games against Syria. Players based abroad will join up with the team when they arrive in Addis Ababa for the August 29 friendly against Ethiopia followed by travel to Nairobi for the World Cup qualifying opener.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations website has the full preliminary squad for the camp in the link below which features two players based in North Africa in addition to Ugandan based players, including Patrick Kaddu of RS Berkane in Morocco and Abdu Lumala of Egypt’s Pyramids FC.
