After over ten years out of coaching, Henri Stambouli is returning to football as manager of Algerian club and recent CAF Confederation Cup runners-up JS Kabylie. The 60-year-old French Algerian has over 16 years of managing experience with plenty of stops in European club football as well as in Africa and the Middle East, counting Olympique Marseille, Raja Casablanca and the Togo national team among his previous stops.
Previous JSK manager Denis Lavagne led the club to success in the CAFCC as well as a Coupe de la Ligue trophy, but the team’s current location in sixth place means JSK will miss out on continental football next season, a prime reason why Lavagne was dismissed from his post. It will be interesting to see how Stambouli handles the tough world of Algerian football after over a decade out of the game.
