Malawi – Mwase names squad for World Cup qualifiers

With the excitement of competing in the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations coming up in a few months, it is time for the Flames of Malawi to turn their attention to FIFA World Cup qualifying with their opener at Cameroon on September 3 before hosting Mozambique on neutral ground. Manager Meck Mwase named his squad for the games with South Africa based attackers Gabadinho Mhango (Orlando Pirates), Richard Mbulu and Gerald Phiri Jr (both Baroka FC) making up the star power. Malawi is one of the nations determined by CAF to have an unfit hosting ground, leading to their first “home” match against Mozambique taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
