Moroccan media continues to report that there is more news behind the scenes in the Morocco national team regarding the status of manager Vahid Halihodzic, with the Bosnian coach’s job potentially on the line as the Atlas Lions open up 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying this week. Halihodzic’s squad announcement left many fans and pundits in Moroccan football scratching their heads at the omission of Hakim Ziyech and inclusion of several new faces, and Halihodzic’s meeting with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) apparently failed to provide convincing reasons for the unique roster selection. Lions de L’Atlas reports that if Morocco does not collect maximum points against Sudan and Guinea, then Halihodzic may be done as the national team manager.
