Yassine Bounou has overcome all obstacles to regular first team football in Spain with club Sevilla, and now the goalkeeper’s next goal is to help Morocco take a big step forward by qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. However, Bounou recognizes well that CAF’s World Cup qualifying section is more difficult than in any other confederation with no easy matches and only one team out of each four-team group making it to the final round. The 30-year-old discusses Morocco’s path to qualification and how his club career has continued to grow.
