Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio Launches Leone Stars African Cup of Nations Supporters Tour to Cameroon, Urges Private Sector Investors to Take the Lead

Sierra Leone’s qualification for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations sparked joy and celebration in the West African nation with the next edition in Cameroon being their first appearance at Africa’s showcase tournament in over twenty years. The country’s president, Julius Maada Bio, announced an initiative called the Leone Stars African Cup of Nations Supporters Tour to Cameroon in conjunction with the Sierra Leone Football Association to encourage investment from the private sector in order to support the team as well as supporters traveling to Cameroon. The Leone Stars clinched qualification with a 1-0 victory against Benin in Conakry, Guinea on June 15.
