Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be in full use at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon following an announcement from CAF. The African football governing body informed all participating teams that VAR will be available from the group stage all the way through the final. Previously some reports stated that the technology would only be used in the knockout stages.
