Tunisia and Mauritania are getting ready for an all-African matchup on Tuesday as the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup kicks off in Qatar, but the Carthage Eagles will be without an important leader in the back line. According to Africa Foot United, veteran center back Aymen Abdennour has been withdrawn from the squad due to injury and the Qatar-based player’s spot in the squad has been filled by Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s Jasser Khmiri. Tunisia and Mauritania are in Group B along with United Arab Emirates and Syria, with the top two teams in the group advancing to the knockout rounds.
