Mauritania third string goalkeeper Mbacke Ndiaye was not expecting to get any playing time during the team’s participation at the FIFA Arab Cup, but injuries and circumstance saw the Nouakchott Kings shot stopper make his national team debut in a 1-0 loss to United Arab Emirates. Despite his team losing, Ndiaye won Player of the Match and was impressive in helping Mauritania hold out against the favorites from UAE.
