Coronavirus: With a month to go, CAF says AFCON is staying in Cameroon

CAF continues preparations to stage its showcase competition in Cameroon as the Africa Cup of Nations gets ready for kick off on January 9, and the African footballing body stated that there are no plans to move the tournament in response to recent outbreaks of the Covid-19 variant. Concerns expressed by European clubs and travel restrictions placed by countries such as the United Kingdom on travelling to Africa have led to plenty of rumors that the tournament may be moved, but CAF continues to appear determined to proceed.
