Afcon 2021: Nigeria’s striker woes continue with Paul Onuachu a doubt for tournament

Nigeria and KRC Genk striker Paul Onuachu will be out for around a month after a suffering a hamstring injury during Genk’s 1-1 Belgian Pro League draw against Royal Antwerp on Sunday, likely ruling the 27-year-old out for Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign. Onuachu has been in scintillating form for Genk while being limited to mainly a substitute role in Nigeria’s loaded attack, but with Victor Osimhen’s availability still in doubt, the giant goal scorer’s absence will be felt as Nigeria interim manager Augustine Eguavoen determines his squad for the competition.
