Al Merreikh lodge complaint to CAF because of Mosimane

CAF brought out some star power at the group stage draw for the 2021-22 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup by having Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane participate in the drawing of the teams, but the South African coach’s presence is drawing criticism. Vice president of Sudanese club Al-Merreikh, Adel Abugreisha, stated that the club have lodged a complaint to CAF because of Mosimane’s presence as a manager of one of the participating teams. Al-Merreikh were drawn with Ahly in Group A along with Mamelodi Sundowns and fellow Sudanese side Al-Hilal Omdurman.
