33-year-old Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony agreed to a deal to join Dutch Eredivisie club NEC Nijmegen on Thursday, signing a contract that runs until the end of the current season. Bony was a prominent member of the Ivory Coast side that captured the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, earning a spot in the competition’s Team of the Tournament, but his club career has gone downhill since a big money move to English Premier League side Manchester City. After over a year as a free agent, Bony will attempt to resurrect his career in the Netherlands.
