Olembé Stadium to host Africa Cup of Nations final despite deadly crush

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal between Egypt and Morocco scheduled to be played at the Olembé Stadium in Yaoundé was moved to the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium due to investigations into the crowd stampede that killed eight fans following Cameroon’s Round of 16 victory over Comoros, but the Olembé will be back in use during the competition’s final stages. The stadium will host the semifinal matchup between Cameroon and Egypt as well as the final following the lifting of CAF’s suspension for the venue.
